The Blessed Ivan Merz Family is under the spiritual guidance of the Postulator and Vice Postulator of the Cause for Canonization of Blessed Ivan Merz based in Zagreb, Croatia. PROMOTERS OF BLESSED IVAN MERZ
The work of promotion is not only reserve to the Postulator and Vice Postulator. People volunteered to help in spreading God’s love through the life, works and holiness of Blessed Ivan in their own place, in their free time. The promoters of Blessed Ivan also share in the work of the Cause by sharing their time, talents, and treasures. Official promoters will receive an appointment letter from the Vice Postulator.
KNIGHTS AND DAMES OF SAINT HELEN
The Knights and Dames of Saint Helen are members of the Blessed Ivan Merz Family who commit themselves in safeguarding the sacred relics through their daily prayers, distribution of catechetical materials, promoting Blessed Ivan Merz, supporting the mission of the Cause for Canonization of Blessed Ivan Merz, and inviting others to join the organization.
LAY LITURGICAL MINISTRIES OF BLESSED IVAN MERZ
All liturgical ministers are, first and foremost, members of the Body of Christ. Through their baptism they are the “holy people and royal priesthood” whose right and privilege it is to participate in the ministry of Christ. How the lay faithful exercise this ministry in the world varies, but the fullest and most fundamental expression of it has always been “conscious, active and fruitful participation in the mystery of the eucharist” (General Instruction Of The Roman Missal – GIRM, Introduction #5).
The spirituality of Blessed Ivan Merz can be understood in five points:
- Dedication to God
- Service to the Church
- Education and formation of the youth
- Promotion of liturgical renewal
- Love and fidelity to the pope
Members of the Blessed Ivan Merz Family are invited to live the spirituality of Blessed Ivan and be creative on how to perform and enrich it. The five points spirituality can also be achieved through the apostolates of the Family where each member is invited to take part.
